Can Sorry Really Erase the Mistake?

Many people think sorry is a magic eraser. They do something hurtful, say sorry, and act as if their apology erases what they did. Then they repeat the same mistake and apologize again, until saying sorry becomes a habit. It’s as if they believe they can keep hurting you because a simple apology will fix everything.

Personally, I don’t think that’s how it works. Some mistakes can’t be erased by saying sorry. You have to bleed some blood. Just kidding. 😜

But seriously, don’t feel entitled to hurt someone just because you can easily apologize afterward, especially if you don’t even mean it. Sorry is just a word, not a magic eraser. Maybe that’s why some people are so comfortable hurting others. They know they can easily utter that one little word, even without meaning it.

Saying sorry is easy, especially for two-faced people. 😜 But the million-dollar question is, would you believe them? Would you be easily swayed by their flowery words?

Some pain takes time to heal. (Although, honestly, I don’t believe that. But that’s a topic for another blog.)

Of course, there are instances when an apology helps. But please, don’t make a habit of hurting people just because you think saying sorry will cover up your mistakes. That’s not how it works.

Make it a habit to change instead. If you know your actions hurt someone, don’t keep repeating the same mistake. Try another mistake. There are plenty of them. Just kidding. 😂

Seriously, though, take responsibility for your actions and the consequences they bring. An apology means little if you have no intention of doing better.

au revoir. 🙂
