Sat With Ree: Life Ends

Life moves in mysterious ways. In the blink of an eye anything could happen.  Life is full of unexpected occurrences—good and bad. The person you are laughing with today is probably gone by tomorrow. Without even saying your goodbyes, you will only be awaken with the bad news, that the person you had a good laugh with last night is already gone, for good. Then it will hit you, death is real. People die. You didn't even get the chance to tell them how much they mean to you, or how they created such a big impact in your life. Because who would've thought that the last time that you talked, will already be the last time. Especially when your last conversation didn't even give you any indication that it will be the last.  Death is an inevitable part of life. We all know that we will all die one day, but it always come as a surprise to us when someone we know dies. Especially if that someone is so dear to us. It feels like a part of us also dies. We can't imagine living our ...

‎Sat With Ree: Loving Someone Is A Choice

You can choose the person you will love, but you cannot choose the person who will love you. You can’t choose the person who will love you, but you can choose to love the one who loves you. I believe that it is possible to love someone you thought you couldn't if you only choose to. Falling in love is easy, but staying in love requires effort. We cannot choose who we fall in love with, but we have the liberty to choose who we're going to stay in love with. Staying in love with someone is a decision. There will be days when you’re gonna see your partner as someone who is totally different from the person you fell in love. When you started your relationship all you’re going to see are the things that you have in common. But as you journey together, you’ll realize that you have a lot of differences, too. The things that you’re going to discover with them could either make or break your relationship. With all the differences that you’ll eventually discover, you could either choose ...

Sat With Ree: Valentine's Day For Single

Only two days to go before Valentine’s Day. What are your plans? Do you have a date? Or are you going to celebrate Valentine like a normal day? I’ve been single my whole life. I have no idea what’s the difference between spending Valentine’s Day being single and if you are in a relationship. I can only speak on singles’ behalf. Allow me to share with you the pros and cons of being single during Valentine’s Day. Cons: If you want to receive flowers and/or chocolates, you have to buy for yourself. You have to pay for the food that you want to eat just in case you decided to date yourself. Pros: You don’t have to consider anyone when it comes to what and where you want to eat. (And mind you, this applies all year round not only during Valentine.) You don’t have to wake up early because you and your partner planned a date to watch the sunrise or have breakfast somewhere. The whole day is yours. You get to decide where and how you want to spend it. You could simply binge-watch a movie or a ...

Happy 1st, Sat With Ree

Happy 1st Anniversary to Sat With Ree ❤ Has it been one year already? It didn't occur to me that I would be able to make it to my first year. I had no idea how I was able to come up with a new topic each week for one year. For the past year, blogging has somehow diverted my attention to other things. I was prone to overthinking especially nowadays, with everything that is happening not just globally, but also with my personal life. I was forced to think of a new topic each week, so that I would have something to upload when Saturday finally comes. And boy, was it hard to come up with a new topic. There came a time when it's already midweek, and I still haven't thought of a topic to write about. Then I would be surprised with myself when abruptly a new topic finally came to mind.  Truly, if you are dedicated and persistent to do something you will be able to do it. Even when things are hard, as long as you are committed into doing it you will never be discouraged to accompli...

Sat With Ree: Love Language

Love is probably one of the (if not the most) powerful words. You can do things you thought you weren't capable of because of love.  People have their own different love language. Some of us are very vocal when it comes to telling the people we love how much we love them. While there are some who are more into action. They occasionally tell the people they love that they love them, they just let their actions speak for them.  People nowadays are so grand in showing their love towards their significant others. They are willing to go the extra mile just to prove their love to their partner. Other people don't like to be showered with material things because what matters to them is the time they spend together.  Sometimes people won't believe you love them until you've done something they thought you could never do. For an instance, there are some girls who hate their partners smoking.  Although when they met, they were already aware that their partner smokes. Then all ...

Sat With Ree: Put On Your Best Armor

"I'm still alive, but I'm barely breathing" You've probably experienced this kind of feeling at least once in your life, when you are just living because you're still breathing. You definitely experience not wanting to get up every morning because you can't see any point why. How is it possible that your heart feel so totally empty, yet your brain is about to explode because of its fullness.  It's hard to keep your head above water when there's something on your feet that's constantly been dragging you down. It's tough to wait for beautiful things to happen when all you've seen are the worst. You don't want to expect anymore, but you still want to hold on to that tiny hope that you still have. You still want to believe that maybe, just maybe things will work in your favor this time. But what if the things that you've been going through right now, is preparing you for what's coming next in your life? All the sufferings that y...

Sat With Ree: Of All The Things

How do you get over from losing something that you thought would last forever?  It's definitely hard to recover from something that you've lost especially if that something is all you've ever dreamed of. It's typical of us to sit in one corner and be miserable for a while when something that we want just slipped from our grasp in a flash. It's as if when we mope the thing that we lost will work it's way towards us again. Flash news: life doesn't work that way. We can be miserable all we want until when we want, but the thing that we lost won't come back to us anymore. No matter how much effort we put into it or how hard we work if it's really not meant for us we can't do anything, but to accept the fact that they're already gone. John Green once said that, "The world is not a wish-granting factory." If it was, the word "appreciate" wouldn't even be found in the dictionary. Sometimes what we lost wasn't really meant...
